Sterile plates with Malt Extract Agar and antibiotic protection to limit bacterial contamination. Each plate has a 0.2 µm vented lid and comes sealed, ready to use.

What’s inside

  • Medium: Malt Extract Agar (MEA) + antibiotic
  • Pour depth: ~20–22 mL per 90 mm plate
  • Sterility: Autoclaved, poured in clean conditions
  • Packaging: Sleeved & sealed stacks; date-coded batch label
Quick recipe (1L):
20g Malt Extract + 15g Agar + 1L water,
plus antibiotic added after cooling to ~50°C.
Sterilize 15 min @ 15 psi. Cool to 45–50°C, pour aseptically.
Antibiotic type may vary (commonly gentamicin or tetracycline).

Quick Start

  1. Warm plates to room temp and wipe sleeves with alcohol
  2. Open one plate at a time in a clean area
  3. Inoculate with liquid culture, spores, or clean tissue
  4. Seal with parafilm or micropore, incubate at 22–26°C
  5. Transfer away from contaminants; keep best growth
Tip: Store unused plates in the fridge (2–8°C), sealed. Warm up before use to reduce surface moisture.
